Concepts for "Nic"

These are some concept drawings I did for a character I'm designing named Nic. After various conversations and revisions with the director, his design has changed vastly, but there is still a special place in my heart for this little page of exploration.

Wedding Commission

This is a commissioned piece I did for a friend's wedding favors. If you'll notice, the gummy bears and mario mushrooms really push it over the edge from casual to wedding formal.

I did this during a life drawing night sponsored by CSUF's animation/illustration club. It's one of my favourite life drawing compilations, due mostly to the rock-star quality the model exuded. Plus I simply adore drawing dreds.

Viking Concepts

My friend Crystal and I are on team Viking for an animated short our club is producing. I'm animating the short, fat, bossy one; this is one of my pages of character exploration.

C'mon Murphey!

We're hurrying to put together the pitch packet for our film, and one of the elements Amy asked of me was a color study of Amos and Murphey. I started thumb-nailing, then realized halfway through this drawing that I had inadvertently covered up almost all of Amos's costume.

So, back to the drawing board, I suppose!
